Biography:
Colonel Miles Quaritch is the primary antagonist in James Cameron's 2009 film, *Avatar*. He is the head of security for the Resources Development Administration (RDA) on Pandora, a moon inhabited by the Na'vi, a sentient humanoid species.
Quaritch is a hardened and ruthless military man, a veteran of numerous conflicts, who sees the Na'vi as a threat to human interests and expansion. He believes in using force and intimidation to secure RDA's access to Pandora's valuable mineral, unobtanium.
He is instrumental in training the Avatar Program's security forces and oversees the destruction of the Na'vi's Hometree. His unwavering commitment to his mission and his disregard for the Na'vi's culture ultimately lead to his downfall in the final battle.
Stephen Lang portrays Colonel Miles Quaritch in *Avatar*, and will also return to play the character in multiple sequels.
